The headline figures in these docs come from this page. Each one carries its definition, its source and the date it describes, so that figures are never quoted without their basis. Face-value mints are excluded, gross figures are not permanent loss, and one incident with no verified dollar figure is not included in the sum | 14 September 2023 to 15 September 2026 | Source: Canary incident inventory. ## How to read these figures * **Every figure has a basis and a date.** A figure is only meaningful with both, and these docs do not quote one without them. * **Volume is flow, not a balance.** Secured volume is the cumulative value of transfers over a period. It is not value locked or value at rest. * **Dune is a lower bound.** Dune indexes a subset of supported chains, so totals across all chains are higher. * **The track record belongs to the infrastructure.** Canary's operating record describes its existing verification infrastructure. Where it appears alongside Canary Cosigner, it is not Cosigner's standalone operating history. * **Network figures belong to the network.** Figures about the wider LayerZero network are LayerZero's figures, not Canary's.
