# DVN addresses

Per-chain Canary DVN addresses.

Canary's per-chain addresses are published in the LayerZero DVN address registry: [docs.layerzero.network/v2/deployments/dvn-addresses?dvns=Canary](https://docs.layerzero.network/v2/deployments/dvn-addresses?dvns=Canary).

Three rules apply when you use them.

* **A DVN has a different deployment address on every chain.** You cannot reuse an address from one chain on another, and each pathway needs its own address pair.
* **Addresses must be sorted ascending** inside configuration arrays. An unsorted set is rejected when the configuration is applied. Sort by the lowercase form of each address.
* **A DVN must be live on both ends of a pathway.** Check both the source and the destination chain before you configure a pathway.

If you use the LayerZero toolbox with named DVNs, the metadata service resolves `Canary` to the correct address on each chain automatically. Verify the resolved addresses against the registry before mainnet.
